1. What changed?
Some manufacturers have released dual-versions of messenger apps on their devices. For example, with the release of Samsung Experience 9.0 on Android Oreo, users are now able to install 2x WhatsApp (they need to have two numbers, of course). Other devices that include this are Xiaomi, OnePlus, etc.
2. How does this impact scheduling on SKEDit?
Unfortunately, we did significant R&D and found that it is not possible to make it compatible with SKEDit as there is no technical/programmatic way to identify whether the device has dual apps installed or not.
If you have dual messengers installed, you should consider removing one to be able to continue to schedule successfully without any issues. Otherwise, the scheduling won’t work.
For example, on Xiaomi devices, you will get a “file not supported” error when selecting a contact. On Samsung devices, auto send will no longer work as you will receive a notification popping up from the bottom of the device screen and asking you to select the WhatsApp version you want the message to send.
We are always looking for ways to overcome limitations or for changes in technicalities and policies that might impact scheduling on SKEDit. We assure you that we will work on this compatibility as soon as it is possible.
NB: Please help us improve our product and cover more devices & use cases by sharing a video screen record showing what happens at the scheduled time in case a schedule WhatsApp message fails (even after meeting all the requirements). You can email us on contact@skedit.io or submit a ticket in the Help Center.
